Meghan Trainor has announced the cancellation of her entire Get In Girl tour. She needs time to concentrate on her family and her newborn – in the midst of releasing her upcoming album, Toy With Me, out later this month.

“After much thought and some really hard conversations, I have made the difficult decision to cancel the Get In Girl Tour,” the singer wrote in an April 16 post Instagram story post. “Releasing a new album, preparing for a national tour, and welcoming our new daughter into our growing family of five is just more than I can handle right now. I need to be home now and be there for everyone.”

The Get In Girl Tour, produced by Live Nation, was scheduled to kick off June 12 in Clarkston, Michigan. Trainor was scheduled for 30 performances in arenas and amphitheaters across North America, with Icona Pop supporting him.

Promise to the fans

In her statement, Trainor apologized to her fans and said she understood their disappointment. She added: “This is the right decision for my family and I right now. I promise I’ll be back soon and I can’t wait for you to hear this new album. I’m so proud of it and I’m eternally grateful for your love and support.”

“Toy With Me” will be released on April 24th via Epic Records and features previously released singles “Get in Girl,” “Still Don’t Care,” and “Shimmer.” The new work will be Trainor’s seventh studio album.
