Media: Khedira and Wolf inherit Bierhoff from the DFB

The German Football Association is probably spreading the legacy of its former director Oliver Bierhoff over several shoulders. Rio world champion Sami Khedira and the former Bundesliga coach Hannes Wolf are to work in senior positions at the association in the future. This is reported by the “Sports buzzer”.

Accordingly, in addition to director Rudi Völler, who is exclusively responsible for the national team and the U21, there will be a dual leadership in the future. Khedira should primarily take care of the strategic orientation, the previous U20 coach Wolf to the young and talent training. The DFB initially did not want to comment on the report on “SID” request.

Khedira (36) would have to resign as an adviser to VfB Stuttgart and would also be the contact person for the women’s national team at the DFB, but Joti Chatzialexiou should continue to be the majority of them. His coming has been an open secret for months.

Wolf should also receive his post on the recommendation of Hans-Joachim Watzke. The managing director of Borussia Dortmund knows the 42-year-old from his time in BVB’s youth department (2009 to 2016). After that, Wolf worked for VfB Stuttgart, Hamburger SV, KRC Genk in Belgium and on an interim basis for Bayer Leverkusen.

At the DFB he took over the U18s in October 2020 and returned after his engagement at Bayer in 2021 to coach the U19s and later the U20s.
