McEnroe selects tennis players Isner and De Minaur for Laver Cup

American tennis player John Isner and Australian Alex de Minaur will participate in the Laver Cup tournament at the end of next month. Captain John McEnroe has selected them for Team World, which will take on Team Europe between September 23 and 25 at The O2 in London.

Isner (37) was also present at the previous four editions of the Laver Cup. The US number 48 in the world hopes to win the event for the first time. For the time being, the Laver Cup always went to the team of European tennis players.

Isner and Laver Cup debutant De Minaur, the world number 20, team up with Americans Taylor Fritz and Jack Sock, Diego Schwartzman from Argentina and Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime. Team Europe consists of Grand Slam champions Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Andy Murray, plus Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud. Björn Borg is the captain of the European squad.
