Amsterdam (AP) – The Moroccan soccer player Noussair Mazraoui has described his future employer FC Bayern Munich as a “dream club”.
“Now is the right time to say it. We became champions. And I’m going – absolutely – to a dream club,” said the 24-year-old after winning the Dutch championship with Ajax Amsterdam on TV channel ESPN.
Bayern sports director Hasan Salihamidzic had previously confirmed the right-back’s forthcoming change. “We are very happy that he has decided to go with us in the next few years. Ajax Amsterdam secured their 36th title early on the penultimate matchday by beating SC Heerenveen 5-0. It was Mazraoui’s last home game at the Johan Cruijff ArenA in which he was substituted in the 57th minute. “Everyone knows this is my last home game. It felt like saying goodbye all day,” said the defender. He should get a contract with Bayern until 2024.
In addition to Mazraoui, his teammate Ryan Gravenberch from Amsterdam should also come to Munich. In a party video from the dressing room after winning the championship, Ajax player Kenneth Taylor said goodbye to the 19-year-old midfielder to FC Bayern: “Unfortunately, he will leave us, but he deserves it. Gravenberch is under contract with Ajax until June 30, 2023. The Dutch and the German record champions still have to agree on a transfer fee.
