The mayor of Deurne speaks of a ‘intrieste day’ for the residents of the houses that were largely destroyed by a fire on Monday. “Their stories make a big impression,” writes Greet Buter on Facebook. She indicates that nobody was injured by the fire, “but the effect on the residents and the neighborhood is of course huge.”
The mayor also expresses her appreciation for the fire brigade. “The fire brigade fought the fire with their might, for that my big thank you,” she writes. According to her, there is compassion for the affectors in the district, “which is beautiful to experience despite everything.”
A fierce fire raged in four houses on the Maassingel on Monday afternoon. No one was injured, but 24 homes in the neighborhood had to be temporarily evacuated because of the smoke. The four affected houses are for the time being uninhabitable.
