Maxime Meiland wants to exchange his dream villa for a smaller home: ‘This is unbearable’ | Show

Maxime Meiland did not properly estimate the size of her dream home and has therefore put her home up for sale again. The reality star wants to move to a smaller house. “This is unacceptable,” she said on Monday evening Chateau Meiland.

Maxime and her husband Leroy moved in last February luxury villa De Meezen in Noordwijk, a house with a living area of 327 square meters. It seemed like a dream place to the young family – they have children Claire and Vivé – with six bedrooms, three bathrooms and a luxurious kitchen. There is also a double garage, a heated swimming pool and a large garden.

But when mother Erica concludes during a visit that the garden is very messy, Maxime heaves a deep sigh in Monday evening’s episode on SBS 6. “Mom, it’s so messy… I never sit outside, I can’t handle it. Weeds everywhere.”

Then Maxime starts to talk about the wrong choice she made. “I thought: how wonderful, this garden and everything will not be too bad. I was also promised that my parents would tend the garden once a week, together with me. They have never been.” Father Martien doesn’t like that either: “Just move to something smaller. You never sit in that dining room.” Maxime nods affirmatively.

Overwhelmed

Erica wonders how her daughter can make so many mistakes about the houses she buys. “I can’t really estimate that,” Maxime admits. She becomes ‘overwhelmed’ at that moment. However, on closer inspection, she says, it is ‘unbearable’. She therefore agrees with her father: it would be better for her to live smaller. She just doesn’t feel like moving again.

This already became apparent last week, Maxime plans to move again has: the characteristic villa is for sale, with a price tag of 2,195,000 euros. Her mother Erica told this site that ‘something better came her way, which will take some time’.

The Meilandjes are no strangers to moving. Maxime and Leroy quickly found their semi-detached house in Noordwijk, which they purchased in 2021, too small, after which they bought another luxurious semi-detached villa for 1.2 million. It went on the market seven months later and was reportedly sold for 1.3 million euros. Martien and Erica are also good at it – they have lived in a French castle, a villa in Hengelo and two villas in Noordwijk in recent years.
