Maxime Meiland and her husband are putting their new villa up for sale again after eight months. Just like their critics, they indeed believe that they live a bit above their means. “Money…”
It was an incredibly risky move by Maxime Meiland and her partner: in February they bought a very expensive villa worth no less than 2.2 million euros. They got a top mortgage, largely thanks to her TV income, but that career does not seem very sustainable. When her parents stop, Maxime is little left.
High costs
Maxime admits that the monthly costs are a bit high. “Well, it also has a bit to do with the money, yes. Of course. At some point you have to consider: OK, do I really want to live here and skimp on other things? Or do I just want to say: we’re going to live a good life?” she says RTL Boulevard.
She now chooses the latter and that is of course a wise decision. “I always thought I was the person like my parents: OK, anything for the house. And I notice the older I get, the more I move away from that. And I also think: I also enjoy doing fun things with those girls.”
Bollenstreek
Maxime, who has once again acquired a terrible pair of glasses, continues to live in the same region. “Well, I don’t really want to say much about it. We are indeed moving, the house will soon be for sale. Yes, where are we going? In any case, we will stay in the bulb region. Yes, and why do I want to leave?”
She continues: “We were offered an opportunity and we thought: we have to do this, because this rarely comes on the market. There’s a very good reason why we’re leaving, but I can’t tell you yet. But why we’re leaving: look, I underestimated this house a bit.”
Big garden
It is much too big a house, says Maxime. “That garden is a lot of work and we really just don’t have time for it. It is indeed very big. We do not use a third party. And then a new opportunity like that… So it’s an accumulation of things that makes us think: let’s just do it.”
Will this be another predictable theme in the soap? “No, it is not being filmed. We don’t want there to be cameras there either. Lee says, “I just want to be really private there.” Also because of the neighbors and I agree. We already give so much.”
