Maxime Meiland is angry at RTL Boulevard because they have recorded her marriage. She said she wanted to keep her big day ‘private’. Except for the twenty SBS 6 cameras.
The Meilandjes are constantly facing the RTL Boulevard camera when they have some wine or silk scarves to sell, but when daughter Maxime experiences a real TV wedding, the program is not welcome. Ridiculous, said reporter Aran Bade. He drummed up a cameraman at the end of July and appeared at the party unannounced.
Maxime’s wedding
Maxime and her beloved Leroy got married in the Oud Poelgeest castle in Oegstgeest and had it filmed extensively for their SBS 6 show Chateau Meiland. Those images were supposed to be exclusive, but Aran and his cameraman were not turned away by the master of ceremonies. They were allowed to shoot images from a distance.
RTL Boulevard was therefore able to broadcast images even earlier than SBS 6 and that has caused some resentment, especially because the program seems to have tapped audio from the producer of Chateau Meiland. For that reason, steps were even considered against the show section.
“Should be private!”
Now, almost a month later, Maxime complains to the ANP that she was not happy with the attention of Boulevard. “We really didn’t like that. When Leroy proposed to me, we already said: fine if the team from Chateau Meiland will be at the wedding later, but otherwise no press. And then they are there. I am very bad at that.”
Such a grandiose TV wedding that will soon be broadcast in detail on national television is incredibly private, explains Maxime. “I already care so much, I would have liked our big day to have remained a little private.”
Leroy on TV
Maxime would have liked to keep it all private so that not only the big day itself, but also the entire run-up to it will soon be extensively shown on television. Her beloved will also appear extensively in the picture, despite that enormous private character.
“This time, Leroy is also much more in the picture, which is great fun,” explains Maxime. “You see us sparring about the wedding, going to dance classes, tasting cakes and of course choosing the dress. When is the wedding to be seen? I’m thinking somewhere at the end, so just a little patience!”
