Anyone who saves something gets something, because both ensembles were ‘oldies’ from Max’s closet. The classic brown dress from Dolce & Gabbana was only featured after the other days in which some of the colors of the Surinamese flag could be seen: white, red and yellow. The addition of the color green only followed in the evening with the sari.

XL bracelets

To give the brown dress a different touch, the original turquoise buttons were replaced by wooden buttons. A smart solution to give an existing outfit a slightly different look that designers and cutters often use. This also applies to Máxima, who probably thought this was more appropriate for authentic Surinamese visits. She combined the whole thing with five XL wooden bracelets to stay in the same style. Even the President of Suriname Jennifer Simons had adapted to the queen’s looks and, unlike the rest of the week, did not wear a black outfit but brown pants with a white top and an ecru blazer.

Gloves

Even with an orange safety vest, the whole thing still looked fashionable. The sandals she wore earlier this week in black were now available in brown and the beige clutch matched the brim in the XL hat. And so the styling circle was complete again! Except for the answer to the question why Máxima also had beige gloves with her, which she did not wear but had brought with her in case of clammy hands?

Original fabric

Also in XL version was the flying saucer hat that she wore once before in Rotterdam. This immediately makes the simple dress a lot less boring and adds a lot of grandeur. Speaking of which… The grandeur was also the highlight of the evening during the counter performance in which Máxima wore one of her favorite pieces of clothing. The green/silver Indian sari, made from original fabric that she bought in India and made by designer Jan Taminiau in 2019 and therefore not a new look. But we are not tired of this yet, Máxima can easily wear this a few more times.
