Max Hopp secured the Tourcard at the Q school in January, which he had lost after the 2022 season. The “Maximiser” has big plans for the future and wants to go back to the Darts World Championship in the London “Ally Pally”. In his game, the 28-year-old still sees a lot of room for improvement.

Max Hopp was no longer part of the PDC Tour for two years. In January, however, he succeeded in making his comeback when he secured the Tourcard for the next two years in the Q school. With his development, the 28-year-old, who celebrated his World Cup debut at the age of 16 in the “Ally Pally” 2013, is quite satisfied.

“It is going very well. But I know that I have to give myself time to reach my best level,” the “Maximiser” told “Sportsnieuws.nl” and explained: “I am firmly convinced that I have not yet shown my full potential.” The fact that he has repeatedly fought setbacks in recent years would have had “many reasons”.

Darts: Max Hopp targeted World Cup comeback

“A shoulder injury and especially the disease on the Pfeiffer glandular fever stole a lot of substance for me,” Hopp explained the misery of the past few years. In the meantime, however, things are going well. “I live healthier and have significantly more energy again.” So the native Hesse wanted to fully attack again.

“The World Cup 2026 is definitely the goal. That would be a very nice comeback. But I have to go step by step. I am currently in a good position and can definitely pack it. I hope that I can qualify through the European Tour,” Hopp looks optimistically into the future.

Most recently, the former Mega talent in 2021 was a player at the season highlight in London. Hopp has accompanied the World Cup as a TV expert in recent years.
