According to Albert Verlinde, it is not normal how Matthijs van Nieuwkerk looked during his big sorry interview with RTL Boulevard. Images of this have circulated on the internet and show a rather pale Matthijs. When you look through your eyelashes you actually see one large pale spot and according to Albert that cannot be the intention.
Hate Matthijs?
Albert thinks it’s bizarre, he says at the table Today Inside. “Matthijs should just do what he wants, only at RTL someone has to… Did you see that interview? I just saw that photo and when I saw that photo I thought: does anyone hate him? He looked like some sort of…”
Wilfred Genee: “He looked like he had died, didn’t he?”
Albert: “Well, that’s it! Look, look at it.”

Albert: “It’s terrible, isn’t it? You can put the years underneath.”
Wilfred: “If you tilt that photo, it’s gone!”
Albert: “And you know: this photo will haunt him all the time. It’s really terrible.”
‘I was shocked’
Johan finds it remarkable that Matthijs has agreed to this setting. “For newspaper photos you always make the agreement that he must approve the photo before it can be posted, but that did not happen here.”
