If Karim Adeyemi and Serhou Guirassy leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, the Sky expert sees the club in a good position.

Lothar Matthäus has spoken out in favor of a new ranking in Borussia Dortmund’s attack and further fueled the rumors about the departures of top strikers Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi. If BVB wants to reorganize and rejuvenate its team in the summer, “Silva with his actions is an ideal successor and for Guirassy you might get a euro or two,” he said in the football talk “Sky90” with a view to striker Fábio Silva. So far, the Portuguese has not progressed beyond a joker role.

Last season, Guirassy was Dortmund’s life insurance and scored 21 goals in the Bundesliga, as well as 13 goals in 14 Champions League games. This season he was often unhappy. Between November and January he even remained without a goal in the Bundesliga this season.

Lothar Matthäus made a harsh judgment: “He’s no longer Guirassy, he’s become a different player now. He no longer laughs, no more body tension, no more fun.” Niko Kovač would support him and “of course he scores a goal, but that’s not enough for a player of his class.” He currently has 13 Bundesliga goals.

There is said to be an exit clause in his contract, which runs until 2028, according to which he can leave the club in the summer for 35 million euros.

His conclusion about Guirassy’s strike partner Karim Adeyemi was similar. The 24-year-old scored the celebrated opening goal in stoppage time in the 2-0 win in Stuttgart on Saturday evening, but has been lagging behind in form for weeks.

“In another time, people thought that he no longer had anything to do with the club because of his body language. He didn’t go into a duel before,” said Matthäus, criticizing his appearances. At the same time, he explained that he would like to have Adeyemi in my team. He praised the speed, technique and his shot, “but he’s already gone a bit,” said Matthäus.

Adeyemi’s contract with BVB expires in the summer of 2027, and a departure in the summer is considered likely. The attacker is repeatedly linked to various top European clubs.
