RTL expert Lothar Matthäus brings up a loan move for Sturm-Juwel Mathys Tel from FC Bayern to Eintracht Frankfurt.
“Tel would be someone who would be good for the people of Frankfurt,” said Matthäus in an interview with RTL/ntv and sport.de. “He would be an alternative because he has speed and he’s a goal threat. He’s shown that when he gets the coach’s trust.”
For Mathys Tel, FC Bayern transferred a whopping 20 million euros to his training club Stade Rennes in the summer of 2022. At first, the now 19-year-old showed good beginnings as a joker. Recently, however, his development stagnated. “If you don’t have any playing time, then you can’t find a rhythm and you lack confidence,” said Matthäus.
Tel holds a similar position to Marmoush at Eintracht Frankfurt, the record national player analyzed. “He doesn’t play right up front, he also comes more on the left side.”
FC Bayern: Mathys Tel to FC Chelsea? Friend denies rumors, but…
Recently there were rumors about Tel’s departure to Chelsea FC. Sports director Christoph Freund denied this on Tuesday.
“The clear goal of all of us involved is that Mathys Tel makes a breakthrough with us. And we believe in it too. Mathys believes in it and that’s why it’s not an issue for us at the moment that we’re dealing with other things,” he said Austrian.
Freund’s “no” to a possible signing of Christopher Nkunku from the Blues is said to have only been a tactical feint. According to “Sky”, the former Leipzig player remains the German record champions’ top transfer target in January. If Tel stays at FC Bayern, it will face new competition.
Despite his young age, he has already played 81 competitive games in the Munich jersey. He scored 16 goals and eight assists.
