Actor, theater maker and singer Mathias Sercu (54), with roots in Ardooie, proved once again that he is also a gifted screenwriter with the third successful season of Chantal. This year a book was also published about his family, which in recent years has been fighting the incurable cancer that his son Tore is suffering from.
No surprise
It should therefore come as no surprise that he can now call himself West Flemish Ambassador for a year. A very proud Sercu received the trophy on the stage of the Fabriekspand in Roeselare. This happened during a festive gala evening, where Kapitein West-Vlaanderen, the cheerful alter ego of Knokke-based content creator Jietse Pauwaert, provided many comical moments.
