A massive brawl broke out in Antwerp’s Seefhoek on Friday evening. The exact reason is still unclear, but a case of road rage may have been the cause of the incident. According to bystanders, metal bars and knives were used. One person was injured in the head.

“At just after 7:30 p.m. we received several reports of a massive fight in the Gasstraat,” says Sven Lommaert of the Antwerp police zone. “According to bystanders, sticks and even stabbing weapons were used. Our teams went to the scene and after half an hour things calmed down.”
The exact circumstances of the incident are still somewhat unclear. A case of road rage may have been the trigger, with the parties involved involving their friends and the situation subsequently escalating. Someone suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital. “Some people were taken to the station for questioning.”
