Long jump star Bech-Romatschuk closed because of doping

She dueled with Malaika Mihambo. But nothing will become of it for the time being, because Maryna Bech Romantschuk has been blocked for doping.
She was considered one of Malaika Mihambo’s strongest competitors-now Maryna Bech-Romantschuk has been closed for four years. The independent Integrity Commission (AIU) of the World Athletics Association WA announced on Tuesday that the Ukrainian violated the anti-doping regulations.
Bech Romantschuk was tested positively for testosterone on December 7, 2024. Around three months ago she was initially suspended. The lock now pronounced has been in retrospect since May 13th.
The 29-year-old is active in both long and triple jump. In 2018 at the European Championship in Berlin and 2019 at the World Cup in Doha, she had won silver behind Mihambo. Bech Romantschuk celebrated her greatest sporting success with winning the gold medal at the European Championship 2022 in Munich.
