Mary Quant, John Peter Boden and Ben Francis receive honorary British degrees

Every year, the British monarch bestows honorary degrees on people from the Commonwealth who have done a “good job”. This year, King Charles awards the honorary degrees for the first time. This year’s honorees include Mary Quant, John Peter Boden and Ben Francis.

British designer Mary Quant has been awarded the title of Companion of Honour, the highest title one can receive. She received the title because of her significant contribution to the arts over a long period of time. Quant hit it big in the 1960s, and credit for popularizing the miniskirt in the 1960s.

John Peter Boden, founder of the Boden brand, received the title of Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). Ben Francis, founder of the Gymshark brand, was awarded the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) title.
