Werder Bremen has to prepare for a future without striker Marvin Ducksch. His farewell is getting closer. It probably pulls him into a football legend.

The time of Marvin Ducksch at Werder Bremen has apparently expired. As the “kicker” and the “picture” unanimously report, the farewell of the attacker is imminent. Accordingly, the 31-year-old moves to the English second division to Birmingham City. As it says, he should sign a contract for three years. He already said goodbye to his teammates on Tuesday.

According to reports, the two clubs are currently still having the transfer. This should move in the range of two million euros. Any bonus payments could also be added.

Birmingham’s interest in Ducksch was leaked at the end of July. The club of the former exceptional quarters Tom Brady invested around 35 million euros in newcomers with the ex-NFL superstar as a majority owner in the pre-season and rose from the third division into the championship. Now the return to the Premier League is to follow, which Birmingham recently belonged in the 2010/11 season.

Ducksch is currently out for several weeks due to a muscle injury in the calf after he had to stop the first training session of the season preparation on July 7th. The attacker came from Hannover 96 to Werder in the summer of 2021. Since then he has played 134 competitive games and contributed 54 goals and 40 templates. The data portal “Transfermarkt.de” puts its current market value at six million euros. His contract in Bremen actually runs until 2026.

In addition to Birmingham, the Greek first division club Paok Saloniki was said to have been interested in Ducksch. Orlando City from the American MLS is also said to have submitted an offer for the attacker.
