National coach Martina Voss-Tecklenburg has reacted to the anger about the secondments from FC Bayern Munich and nominated three players for the women’s national soccer team.
Janina Minge (SC Freiburg), Carlotta Wamser (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Melissa Kössler (TSG Hoffenheim) belong to the first World Cup preparation course from June 20 to June 28 in Herzogenaurach and the international match on June 24 (6:15 p.m. / ZDF ) in Offenbach against Vietnam.
“We decided to nominate three players in order to be able to fall back on a larger pool of players,” said Voss-Tecklenburg: “Because in the first few days we are missing five players from FC Bayern Munich. We also want to be under pressure of the Wolfsburg women in the past few weeks accordingly.”
Late arrival of the FC Bayern players
The Bayern players will only join the DFB selection on June 23 – which recently caused trouble. “It’s a difficult situation, especially for the players,” Voss-Tecklenburg said when he was nominated: “Our preparation is messing it up. That limits us as a team.”
Bayern did not accept the criticism and referred to the guidelines of the world association FIFA and the European club association ECA. “We made this new decision to only release FC Bayern’s national players from June 23 for the DFB out of consideration for their health,” the club told “SID”: “The cancellation date of June 23 is one Recommended by FIFA and ECA.”
