Mart Hoogkamer was plagued by an intense beer shower during a performance in the Ziggo Dome last weekend. He couldn’t move, because he flew through the room and was stuck in a harness.
It’s no secret that Mart Hoogkamer doesn’t handle it as well as the average artist: beer showers. At the beginning of his career, in 2022, he canceled a performance when six cups of beer were thrown over him from the audience. He was criticized: beer showers are indeed bad, but it is also part of it.
Mart very angry
Finally Mart had it regretted running awayhe said at the time in Eva Jinek’s talk show. “There were a lot of young children at the front and they were just soaking wet. And that made me so angry. Only I was quite young. In retrospect, I should have handled it differently. I should have reacted more professionally and more maturely.”
He just didn’t know how to deal with it yet, the singer said. “When everyone first sings along to all your songs at the top of your lungs and then you are booed and pelted with Flügel bottles, then you think: I don’t want it to be like that anymore. You enjoy 375 shows and things go wrong at 25 shows. And you keep thinking back to those last shows.”
Beer shower
Those beer showers continue to haunt Mart, because last weekend he was the victim again during the Music Festival of the Year in the Ziggo Dome, according to images on TikTok (see below).
We see Mart flying over the audience in the concert hall in a harness, when he suddenly gets an enormous amount of beer thrown at his head. It is inevitable that the folk singer came out of that harness soaking wet. “Mart Hoogkamer flies through the Ziggo Dome but someone can’t keep his beer in his hand,” it says.
“Huh, why?”
Many people react with incomprehension. “But if you don’t like him, why are you going to his concert?!?!”, someone asks.
Another: “It’s not okay to throw beer on someone, how old are we???”
What Mart himself says about it? This time he reacts resignedly. “I did a New Year’s dive 🤣,” he writes Instagram.
