In I want your song every episode five songwriters get the chance to pitch their song as the next single from an established Dutch artist. After all, they are known for making a hit of their creation, while sometimes they can’t even sing themselves. Last night it was the turn of Mart Hoogkamer, who scored hits last year with songs such as I am going to swim and Bieber from the pub.

Fans of the young singer were also allowed to give their opinion about all the songs, but Hoogkamer said that it did not matter. ,,I always choose for myself and I don’t really care what anyone else thinks of me. But if I just have to wipe my tears away because of a song and the fans behind me have the same feeling.” Then Hoogkamer had no choice but to Diamond as the winning song.

Meanwhile, the compliments are pouring in on YouTube. ‘What a beautiful number, not normal! First time I heard him from those guys from Stadskanaal, immediately goosebumps and tears! Good choice Mart.’ And another fan: ‘You are great man, you play this song in a super beautiful way and it describes you! You are the best Mart!’
