Marks & Spencer Appoints Interim Chief Financial Officer

Jeremy Townsend is temporarily taking over the finances at British retailer Marks & Spencer.

Townsend will take up the role of interim chief financial officer effective November 22, Marks and Spencer said Friday. He reports directly to Managing Director Stuart Machin.

“Over the past three years we have built a strong finance team and Jeremy will be an excellent addition as he brings a wealth of finance leadership experience as we accelerate our plans to transform M&S for growth,” said Machin.

Previously, Townsend, who is taking over for Eoin Tonge at M&S, was CFO at British service provider Rentokil Initial Plc. active. He has also held various management positions at Mitchells & Butlers, Sainsbury’s and Ernst & Young.
