Axel Arigato opens his new flagship in a former restaurant in Berlin.

The Swedish shoe brand enlisted the help of architects Hallerod to transform the space into a retail experience, Axel Arigato said. The store is located at the intersection of Weinmeisterstrasse and Neue Schönhauser Strasse, giving potential customers a panoramic view of the store.

“Our stores are based on what we really crave when we enter physical spaces: peaceful wandering, stimulation and a strong personal story. We don’t have a McDonald’s approach where every store looks the same,” said Max Svärdh, co-founder of Axel Arigato. “We treat them like contemporary galleries, focusing less on the transactional element and staying true to our concept, which keeps emerging in new forms and materials.”

With the new store, the brand is already opening its second store in Germany after the Munich flagship opened its doors a year ago. Axel Arigato can also be found at fashion retailers such as Kadewe, Oberpollinger and Alsterhaus.

“We are very happy about the further expansion on the German market. Through direct stores, online and our partners, we see a really strong affinity between our brand, the products we offer and the needs of local customers,” said Managing Director Albin Johansson.
