During the international week we traditionally look at the transfer market database and the most valuable non-national players worldwide. Internationally, there is a trio of former Bundesliga professionals in the top 10, which is dominated by players from the English Premier League. In the national ranking of German actors without nomination for the A national team, two players abroad are among the most valuable.
We are talking about Paul Wanner and Brentfords Vitaly Janelt recently switched to PSV Eindhoven. The 19-year-old Bayern owner Wanner was able to screw its market value over last year during the loan to the 1st FC Heidenheim by 10 million to now 18 million euros. At the end of August, the Dutch paid 15 million euros for the services of the Austrian native, the change to the Eredivisie is the first fixed transfer in Wanner’s career. Only three German actors without international game nomination have a higher market value, one of them is Janelt. The 27-year-old recorded a market value of 2 million euros for the first time in his career in his career, but is still one of the most valuable German non-national players with 20 million euros.
The native of Hamburg, who is already in his sixth season at the Bees, shares second place in the ranking with the Stuttgart Finn Jeltsch. The 19 -year -old central defender made his breakthrough last season at his training club Nuremberg, which brought him a transfer to the Bundesliga for the back series. Since then, Jeltsch has been deployed to VfB 13 times in the upper house, its market value quadrupled himself compared to the summer of 2024. At the top of the most valuable German non-national player, a Frankfurter ranks: The 22-year-old left-back Nathaniel Brown can look back on 14 missions for the U21 selection, but is still waiting for an appointment of national coach Julian Nagels in the A squad.
Just like Jeltsch, a plant of the club, the left foot took the step to the SGE in January 2024 and was committed by the Hesse in the subsequent summer. The professional, which was recently associated with AC Milan, contributed ten scorers in 26 Bundesliga departures for the SGE in the past season and has now increased its market value from 3 million to EUR 22 million since June 2024. He is the most valuable German professional without A-international.
Most valuable non-national players: Premier League professionals dominate
Among the most valuable non-national players worldwide are largely professionals who earn their money in the English Premier League. So also the former Bayern player Mathys Tel from Tottenham Hotspur, who recently increased its market value by 5 million to 35 million euros. The 20-year-old attacker for the U21 of France rose 14 times, but there is still no nomination of Didier Deschamps. The same applies to the ex-Stuttgart Enzo Millot (market value 35 million euros), whose chances should have dropped to Saudi Arabia after switching to Al-Ahli.
Another player from Germany known from Germany is Jamie Gitten’s Jamie Gitten, who was switched from Borussia Dortmund for 56 million euros. The 21 -year -old Englishman was one of the most expensive transfers in the summer and has been on the career high of 50 million euros since the end of last year. For the Young Lions, the wing striker collected eleven missions, it seems to be only a matter of time that Thomas Tuchel also nominates him for the A-squad of England. Gitten’s goal is to jump on the World Cup train about the blues in the coming year.
Only two non-national players have a higher market value worldwide than the former Dortmund: U21 European champion Ethan Nwaneri from Arsenal and 19-year-old Frenchman Leny Yoro by Manchester United. Both professionals have been estimated at 55 million euros since last season.
