Market values Sweden: Bald-Frankfurt’s Hugo Larsson top winner

Update Allsvenskan

Ahead of his transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt, Hugo Larsson has risen to become the top winner in Allsvenskan’s market value update. The central midfielder, who is celebrating his 19th birthday this Tuesday, has increased by a whopping 5 million to 9 million euros and is thus clearly ahead of all other players in Sweden’s first division by June 30th. The talent’s first pursuer is IFK Norrköping’s Arnór Sigurdsson (24), who is also about to leave.

Larsson benefits from his upgrade above all from his move to SGE, which is said to have paid a transfer fee of 9 million euros, but also from the fact that he was a regular at top team Malmö FF at a young age and is already a national player. “He plays incredibly tough and mature for his age and the fee confirms the trend to pay more for young talent,” explains Artjom Zavodnyk (VfB-Devil), market value coordinator at Transfermarkt.

After an increase of one million to 4.5 million euros, Sigurdsson is the second most valuable professional in the Swedish upper house, but only until the end of the month. The 24-year-old will be on loan from CSKA Moscow for Blackburn Rovers from July. “After he left Russia and before that, the former mega-talent was in a crisis, but slowly found his way back to his old form in Sweden and is now trying his hand at England, which has been his dream for a long time,” says Zavodnyk about the Icelander , who contributed five goals and one assist in ten league games.

Larsson’s management position will be taken over by Bénie Traoré (20) from July. The center forward from BK Häcken has risen by 2.5 million to 3.5 million euros, which corresponds to an appreciation of 250 percent. But there is also a lot of interest in the Ivorian thanks to his 15 goals in all competitions this season. Traoré, who has been linked to Glasgow Rangers in the TM rumor mill, was previously considered one of the league’s hottest prospects but missed almost the entire 2022 season with a serious injury.

Market values Allsvenskan: Traoré at the top together with Malmö’s Nanasi

Traoré shares the top position in terms of market value with Malmö’s Sebastian Nanasi (21), who has been revalued by 1.7 million to also 3.5 million euros. Zavodnyk explains: “He has long been considered a great talent, but he played too inconsistently. This year he has now asserted himself and is one of the top performers at table leaders Malmö.”

Meanwhile, the biggest loser of the update is Nanasi’s teammate Anton Tinnerholm (32) with a minus of 800,000 to 1.2 million euros. This is due to his age and ongoing injuries. Djurgårdens’ Victor Edvardsen (27) lost 600,000 euros (to 1.2 million euros), he was unable to continue the strong 2022 season and also switched to the Go Ahead Eagles in the Netherlands for “only” 850,000 euros. Former Mainz player Viktor Fischer (29) lost 500,000 euros in value (to 1.5 million euros). His loan spell at AIK Solna has so far been disappointing, he has yet to score in the league and is not always seeded.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
