The market value update in Serbia focuses particularly on the young top performers at the top clubs. Several talents are increasing their market value massively – especially Red Star talent Vasilije Kostov, who is 17 years old and is inspiring the Super League and is now one of the best in the world in his age group. At Belgrade city rivals Partizan, the focus is on the Stuttgart loanee Jovan Milosevic (20).

Kostov makes the biggest leap and is now the most valuable player in Serbia – also because the previous leader Tomás Handel is devalued at Red Star. Midfielder Kostov climbs from 3.5 million to 10 million euros, making him one of the ten most valuable footballers under the age of 17 in the world. Handel goes from 10 million euros down to 7.5 million euros; Second place ahead of the new rating for Stuttgart’s Milosevic in third place.

“Kostov shines with mature build-up play, creativity, strong finishes, precise deep passes and high dribbling quality,” is how transfer market data scouts “Zvezda_98” and “grobar333” assess the youngster’s performance. His debut in the senior national team and the interest from top international clubs – reportedly including Inter Milan and FC Barcelona – also contribute to the high increase in market value. The experts say: “If he stays at this level, Kostov could one day even become the record sale in the history of Red Star.” Veljko Milosavljevic (15 million euros, Bournemouth) is currently there, followed by Andrija Maksimovic from Leipzig (14 million). Both left the Serbian league this year at the age of 18. Kostov celebrates his birthday in May (among the Serbian league’s most expensive exports).

Stuttgart’s Milosevic is flourishing – would you like to stay at Partizan?

At Partizan, the Stuttgart loanee Milosevic is one of the big risers. “The 20-year-old striker is in outstanding form and has already scored 14 goals in the first half of the season. After a difficult phase in the past, Milosevic now seems to have fully arrived and is once again one of the most productive attackers in the league,” is how the TM scouts explain the new national player’s upgrade from 3 million to 7 million euros.

“Despite ongoing speculation about his future – including the possibility of a return to VfB Stuttgart, about which he has not made a clear statement – according to insiders, staying at Partizan is currently his clear wish,” said the experts. “Milosevic obviously wants to finish the season in Belgrade with real chances of winning the league title and the top scorer’s crown.” In the top scorers list in Serbia, Milosevic is in second place behind Red Star veteran Aleksandar Katai (34). In addition to eleven goals in the league, Milosevic also scored four goals in the Conference League qualification.

The market value admins highlight another winner at Partizan in Ognjen Ugrešić (19). The valuation of the midfield talent increases from 3.5 million to 6.5 million euros. “Ugrešić started the season strongly, went through a brief dip in form with more appearances from the bench, but quickly found his way back to his level. With dynamism, overview, resistance to pressing and creative solutions, he continues to assert himself as a central component in the Partizan midfield.” If it remains constant, the TM experts believe, a highly paid move abroad will only be a matter of time.

At Vojvodina, Stefan Bukinac benefits from the update. The 20-year-old left-back rises from 3 million to 5 million euros – the highest market value of a Vojvodina player since the introduction of TM market values, the experts know. They explain: “Bukinac impresses with his speed, strong crosses, explosive attack, strength in duels and clever decisions in the offensive game. With three decisive assists and strong defensive performances, he was instrumental in Vojvodina winning twice against Red Star and remaining stable in third place.” Bukinac has been in the Serbian U21 team since this year. The market value admins report: “According to insiders, he and Milosevic were on the shortlist for a call-up to the senior national team before the Latvia game – due to injured strikers, the choice ultimately fell on Milosevic. However, his own senior debut only seems to be a matter of time.”

This is how transfer market market values work

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
