Market values Malta: Jefferson & Guillaumier among winners – duo becomes quartet at the top

Update Premier League

Transfermarkt have updated the market values of the Maltese Premier League, turning a duo at the top of the most valuable players into a quartet. Maxuell Samurai (31) and Jurgen Degabriele (26; Hibernians FC) are now joined by Jefferson (28) and Matthew Guillaumier (24; Hamrun Spartans), who have been upgraded by €50,000 and €150,000 respectively to €350,000.

Gzira United FC’s Jefferson is having a strong season, scoring nine goals in 11 games so far, putting him at the top of the scoring charts. Strike partner Maxuell Samurai, who extended his contract in the summer despite offers from Saudi Arabia, is sticking to his assessment. Meanwhile, teammate Darijan Zarkov (30) is on the up. As a result of sovereign performances in the UEFA Conference League qualification, the goalkeeper increases by 50,000 euros to 300,000 euros.

Valletta FC’s talent Andrea Zammit has meanwhile booked a plus of 50,000 euros and is now valued at 150,000 euros. The 19-year-old center forward is contesting his first season in Malta’s first division and immediately established himself as a regular player. He also showed strong performances in the U21 Malta.

Federico Falcone (32; Birkirkara FC), on the other hand, has been reduced due to age and is valued at EUR 100,000 (-EUR 150,000). The poor form Fernando Juárez (24; -100,000 to 200,000 euros) and Eden Hershkovitz (25; -25,000 to 100,000 euros) from Floriana FC are also going down.

This is how the Transfermarkt market values work

The Transfermarkt market values are created taking into account various pricing models and a strong involvement of the Transfermarkt community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values are not to be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational framework conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
