Market values Iceland: Ex-Werder professional Jóhannsson replaced as most valuable player

Update in best part

The former Bremer Aron Jóhannsson (33) is no longer the most valuable player in the Besta deild. In the market value update of the first Icelandic league, the center forward from Valur Reykjavík lost 100,000 euros and is now valued at 300,000 euros. The second largest loss in the league means that three players are now ahead of him: Aron Elís Thrándarson (29; unchanged at 400,000 euros) and Oliver Ekroth (31; unchanged at 350,000 euros) from champions Víkingur Reykjavík and Emil Atlason (30; + 150,000 to 350,000 euros).

Stjarnan Gardabaer’s attacker Atlason owes the upgrade to his 17 goals in the league and finals, making him top scorer. Top scorer Birnir Snaer Ingason (17) from Víkingur also goes up by 150,000 euros to 250,000 euros. This makes the left winger one of ten winners in the champion’s team, whose squad value increases by 16.9 percent to 3.19 million euros and remains the most valuable club.

This is how transfer market market values work

The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.

The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
