An exciting battle for the places in the championship playoffs is looming in Greece, with leaders Olympiakos Piraeus and fifth-placed Aris Saloniki only separated by four points. As part of the Super League 1 market value update on Transfermarkt, the league leader is the big winner, with two 17-year-old talents recording the biggest increase.
With Christos Mouzakitis (17) and Charalampos Kostoulas (17), Piraeus has two of the most promising Greek talents in its ranks. Mouzakitis became more and more important for the Conference League winners as the season progressed and made his debut for the national team in November. After Stefanos Kapino (30), he is the second youngest debutant in this millennium. Its market value climbs from 450,000 to 3 million euros. “Mouzakitis has become an integral part of the Olympiakos team. He has displaced players like Marko Stamenic, Sérgio Oliveira and Dani García. “We haven’t lost a game with him this season and there are already interested parties from Germany and Italy,” says TM user “To-Piratiko”.
Kostoulas operates in the attacking midfield and has shown great improvement, especially in the last few weeks. After an appreciation of 2.4 million, it is now valued at 3 million euros. “He has become the youngest league goalscorer in Olympiakos history. His great strength is his flexibility and top European clubs also have him on their radar.” With goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis (22), who increases by 2 million to 6 million euros, and ex-Leverkusen player Panagiotis Retsos (26), who improved from 3 million to 4.5 million euros, two more Piraeus professionals are among the biggest winners.
Azzedine Ounahi (24) from Panathinaikos Athens and Piraeus’ Yusuf Yazıcı (27) have to accept the biggest losses. Ounahi has not yet been involved in a goal this season and alternates between the substitute bench and the starting line-up. Yazıcı, who joined Piraeus after three months without a club, only played one game and is currently suffering from a torn cruciate ligament.
There are no changes at the top of Super League 1. The most valuable professional remains Fotis Ioannidis (24) from Panathinaikos with a market value of 18 million euros, followed by PAOK’s Giannis Konstantelias (21) and Levi García (27) from AEK Athens, valued at 17 million and 15 million euros respectively become.
Leader Piraeus is the big winner among the clubs in the update and overtakes Panathinaikos. The team is upgraded by 3.2 million and is now at 108.8 million euros. The squad of the 20-time champions from Athens is still worth 102.4 million euros after a loss of 5.3 million euros.
