Maria Eugènia Gay: a career marked by the ‘procés’

Maria Eugenia Gay (Barcelona, ​​1975) was elected dean of the Col·legi de l’Advocacia de Barcelona (ICAB) in 2017 and during her administration she has tried to maintain political “neutrality”. And, although she was re-elected in June 2021, her career at the head of ICAB has not been without controversy. The one who will be the new delegate of the Government in Catalonia, whose appointment will be made official this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers, has received these years fierce criticism from the independence movement and from the most talkative sectors of the profession.
