Marcel van Roosmalen meets Yesim Candan: ‘Attention hungry!’

Marcel van Roosmalen is not at all impressed by Yesim Candan, the Ferry Doedens bestie who was on the D66 candidate list for about a few minutes. “Attention starved!”

Yesim Candan is known to most people from her Today Inside performance after the candle riot and as the best friend of Ferry Doedens. She also apparently writes some columns for RTL News and this week she was briefly on the D66 candidate list, until it turned out that she has also flirted with Forum for Democracy.

Velcro

That woman is very special, says Marcel van Roosmalen. The columnist met her once and doesn’t think much of her. And he is not surprised by her withdrawal, he writes NRC: “Let’s not blame her. The woman is made of Velcro and checks every day to see if anything is still stuck to her butt.”

According to Marcel, Yesim really isn’t very tasty. “The hunger for attention cannot be satisfied, she wants everything. No bite is too big, no, the spoon is too small. RTL Nieuws is lucky to have such a know-it-all as a columnist for the site.”

Meeting

Marcel has met her once, namely the day after her one-off performance in VI. She was on a radio program at the time. “She was asked, but it could also be that she offered herself.”

She asked Marcel all sorts of things behind the scenes ‘in the three minutes we spoke’, for example whether he could give her the number of the NRC editor-in-chief and whether he wanted to come and speak at some demonstration she was organizing. “She was in a mood of much, more and everything.”

No rope

There is no way to tie a rope to that person, says Marcel. “She also wants a role in GTST, her own talk show, at the desk at Boulevard, is also a writer, can sing and feels passed over that she has never been in a suit on The Masked Singer.”

He concludes: “That’s the great thing about a lack of self-knowledge: you want and can do anything.”
