During their entire broadcasting period of four weeks, Marcel van Roosmalen and Gijs Groenteman have never scored as well as Today Inside, but the viewing figures of Marcel & Gijs are anything but disappointing. The gentlemen did well at the time of VI and with the final broadcast they were even the big number one.

Marcel & Gijs on one

The last Marcel & Gijs of this summer came out last night at 572 thousand viewers (16 percent market share), leaving the two other late talk shows behind: Op1 scored 481 thousand viewers (18 percent) and Renze had 378 thousand (12 percent). . Only the first episode of Marcel & Gijs had more viewers, namely 611 thousand.

Tina Nijkamp, the most important viewing figures expert in our country, thinks it is a major achievement. She writes: “Marcell & Gijs succeeded. They are the number one of the talk shows. So their big wish has come true. Wow. A beautiful end to a successful experiment. So that will be a fight between the NPO and SBS 6.”

More often on television

With this TV fight, Tina refers to the fact that the gentlemen make the weekly talk show Media Inside for the public broadcaster. “It is certain that we will see Marcel and Gijs on TV much more often than was the case before this experiment.”

Talpa likes a sequel. A spokesperson for Shownieuws: “We look back with great pleasure and satisfaction on the summer internship of Marcel and Gijs. More and more people have started to watch and appreciate the program. Marcel and Gijs even close this last week with an average of over half a million viewers per episode. We will enjoy that for a while.”

Bram hopes not

Marcel & Gijs with the regular star cast of SBS 6? Bart Ettekoven in the show section: “Bram, you don’t hope so, do you? You don’t like to look at it.”

Colleague Bram Moszkowicz: “Well, I prefer to watch the other gentlemen to begin with. I have a bit of a hard time with that cynicism, I have to tell you, because you don’t quite know… Look, if I were there, I don’t think I would let that much go, you know what I mean? No?”

“I want to see!”

Bram clarifies: “Well, it may be meant to be cynical, but I would say something about that. I would pick up on that and I saw other people sitting there, but they actually allowed themselves to be pissed off a bit with all the cynicism they received.”

Colleague Dyantha Brooks: “I really want to see that, Bram, that you don’t let it go. So maybe for next season?”

Bram: “They didn’t invite me, but maybe they will. We shall see.”
