Marc O’Polo and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Patric Spethmann are going their separate ways.

Spethmann is leaving the Stephanskirchen-based clothing supplier “at his own request” at the end of the current financial year, Marc O’Polo announced on Thursday. He worked for the company for almost seven years.

“A transformation program with many projects must be completed at some point – and the company should be in a significantly better position afterwards than it was at the beginning. That is the task,” said Spethmann. “This is now the case after around seven years. What means the most to me: having built a great team that will continue the journey successfully.”

Since 2019, Spethmann has been working on “developing Marc O’Polo into a scalable, systemic organization,” according to the statement. As COO, he is responsible for digital transformation, including the realignment of logistics. Under his responsibility, the company succeeded in “significantly further developing Marc O’Polo’s infrastructure and processes,” said Werner Böck, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Marc O’Polo SE.

Marc O’Polo does not plan to fill the COO position. This is intended to underline the increased strength and independence of Marc O’Polo’s organization. The previous areas of responsibility will be integrated into the existing management team. CFO Markus Staude-Skowronek will therefore also be responsible for the IT area and Chief Sales Officer Dirk Schneider will be responsible for logistics.
