It is quite a struggle between Marc-Marie Huijbregts and Özcan Akyol. The comedian shouted a few weeks ago that Özcan had behaved ‘very unkind’ at the Boekenbal in the past. Özcan does not let that be said about himself and last Tuesday he fully participated in the VI massacre of the comedian.

Marc-Marie vs Özcan

Marc-Marie is now responding again to all the unkind statements that Özcan has made. “This week I was suddenly a subject at VI at the table,” he says in his podcast Marc-Marie and Aaf Find Something† “I have to read it, because I always say Eus and I don’t really know what it’s really called, or what else it’s called. Oh, his name is Özcan Akyol.”

The comedian does not want to joke about that name. “I don’t think you’re joking with that name. We do that at Ronald Molenpaard, but somehow with Özcan I think: it’s all so difficult in terms of name,” he says. That is why Özcan calls himself Eus. “He’s realized it’s complicated.”

‘Very moving’

Marc-Marie doesn’t understand what zcan is so concerned about. “Apparently he is very upset that I am very unkind I believe and stuff. (…) I honestly haven’t seen it, because I never see that program. (…) I also find it touching and cute that he is simmering like that and that he has a very hard time with that.”

What does Marc-Marie think of the criticism that he spends too much time with Beau? “It was about people being guests so much and that I’m everywhere, while – let’s be honest… Yes, I didn’t want to say much more about it, because I think… Anyway, Eus is really everywhere.”

dead eyes

Özcan’s criticism is therefore very hypocritical, says Marc-Marie. “He just comes by train and he doesn’t need to know where he’s going in advance, but he just comes when he can write a small bill, you know? For 1,250 you simply have Eus in your program. He is at HLF8, at VI, at Sophie & Khalid, at Jinek, at Beau.”

It’s unbelievable, thinks the comedian. “He’s just everywhere. That’s really cute, because then he’s talking to those dead eyes like that… There’s something about that, but I think… Yeah, he always has those dead eyes.”

Co-host Aaf Brandt Corstius: “Yes, that’s true, yes. His eyes, you can’t tell what’s going on inside, so to speak.”

Marc-Marie: “No, I don’t think there’s that much going on either.”

Weird image

Marc-Marie denies that he ever angrily approached Özcan at DWDD. “Eus really has such a weird idea of how things went. He remembers all kinds of things about the Book Ball that I was angry with him afterwards. I’ve never been mad about anything like that. (…) I really do know myself, I don’t care at all.”

Nowadays they sometimes meet at Jinek or Beau. “I always see him with Angela de Jong, because he was often involved with Jinek. I myself am alone with Eva or with Beau. I think that’s all two people that I enjoy making them laugh and that I have a thing for. (…) I’m nowhere else… You certainly shouldn’t whine if you’re him.”

slime ball

All in all, Marc-Marie is going wild on Özcan. “I really didn’t want to do any of this. I just want to say: really nice and moving, I think you are great and also like how he always continues to live in Enschede or where he lives. Now it is becoming a kind of rant against (sees name from his paper, ed.) Özcan and that was not the intention.”

Still, it has become a rant. Why? “I can’t stand injustice very well. And if you see him for yourself, when I meet him myself, he’s always a slime ball tingling. Ehhhhwwhw, he always sits like this, you know?”
