BUNOS AIRES, May 30th. (askanews) – Everything to be redone. The Argentine court that deals with establishing the responsibilities for the death of the footballer Diego Armando Maradona declared the nullity of the trial following the removal of one of his three members, judge Julia Makintach, for having participated in the filming of an unauthorized documentary on the matter.

“When they understood what was happening, they realized that there was nothing better than clarifying all this, cleaning it and starting from the head,” says Fernando Burlando, the lawyer of the daughters of the Argentine football legend Diego Maradona, Dalma and Gianinna Maradona.

The scandal broke out last week, when judge Makintach was accused of partiality and of having authorized two people unrelated to the trial to enter the classroom to film the content of the hearings, which is prohibited by the criminal procedure code. The project, called “Divine Justice”, had to be developed in six half an hour chapters and already had a script and a trailer.

The judge, Veronica di Tomasso, recognized that Makintach made a mistake and said he will have to continue to give explanations, between the tears of two daughters of the football star.

The seven defendants of this trial, all health workers who have edited Maradona in his last moments of life, must respond to the crime of simple murder with Dolo, who in Argentina provides for a sentence between eight and 25 years in prison. 19 hearings had already been held with 44 witnesses, now a new court will have to start the trial again.
