VOC lost the final to Venlo last season, after a best-of-three. Yet the target for the Amsterdammers is unchanged. “We should not hide and just go full for the championship again, says a realistic VOC coach Rachel de Haze.
Acquisitions
VOC welcomed five new players this summer. Jill Kooy is perhaps the greatest asset. “She has gained experience abroad (SU Neckarsulm ed.). The young girls in our team can learn a lot from that.” In addition to Kooy, Romé Steverink is also a welcome reinforcement for the handball team from the capital.
Foreign competitions
Despite the new acquisitions, De Haze does think that her team had to take a step back. “Many basic players from last season have now left. We have to deal with this with new girls. It will take a lot of energy to touch the level of last season.”
Routine Michelle Goos has retired. Kim Molenaar (Kobenhavn Handbold), Pipy Wolfs (Elche) and Lynn Kuipers (TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen) have taken on a foreign challenge.
