Manuel Neuer surprises with a ski statement

A serious accident on a ski tour put FC Bayern’s Manuel Neuer out of action for almost a year. Since his recovery, the Munich captain has dared to venture out into the snow again, as he now reveals. He also revealed a surprising detail in his employment contract.

Manuel Neuer is on the way back to his old strength: The FC Bayern goalkeeper celebrated his long-awaited comeback on the pitch last October. Since then, the 37-year-old has once again provided strong support and nothing stands in the way of his return to the German national football team.

At the end of November, he also extended his contract with FC Bayern, which originally expired at the end of the season, for another year until 2025. Quite surprising: a special passage with reference to skiing was not recorded, as Neuer revealed during a fan club visit to Tegernsee.

Bayern keeper Neuer notices his “injuries”

“There have been no contractual changes,” Neuer is quoted by “Bild”: “I haven’t been skiing. I was once on the cross-country ski trail and did a little skating in the Voitlhof. That worked quite well.”

The Bayern goalkeeper also explained that he now pays even more attention to his body: “Of course I notice my injuries and I still feel one or two things. You can also see that after the training sessions and games. I have to take more care of my body because of that. which is completely normal with such major injuries.”

Neuer was also very talkative at the fan club meeting. When asked whether Jürgen Klopp would be a candidate to be on the sidelines at FC Bayern in the future, the Munich captain said: “He is a renowned, very good, experienced, tactically astute coach who is great with all footballers and athletes Respect is gaining and I believe that he is definitely a potential candidate who could later work for Bayern Munich.”
