Minister of Industry and Trade Manturov: Russia will have to say goodbye to a number of automakers

The Ministry of Industry and Trade is waiting for the final decision of foreign automakers on the issue of their further work or exit from the Russian market until early April, Manturov said.

Russia may have to say goodbye to a number of foreign automakers, declared Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov.

He said that now the Russian side is in dialogue with all automakers and foreign brands. With some of them, Russia has a clear understanding that they will remain on the Russian market and maintain production capacities and supplies of components, the minister noted.

“Perhaps we will have to say goodbye to someone, unfortunately, because we cannot wait forever,” Manturov warned. According to him, a non-working enterprise means non-payment of taxes and degradation of production.

The head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade expressed the hope that the parties would be able to reach a common decision by the end of March or the beginning of April.
