Lamps, doormats, trash cans, those who are looking for free design for a house can visit the window field in Geldrop. The parking space in front of the flat has turned into a dump. There are dozens of eaten plastic waste bags and for months there have been massive stuff in addition to the garbage containers.
“This is my view,” says Manon Hendriks irritated from the balcony of the flat. “Everything and everyone from the neighborhood seems to come and pour his stuff here. It is not a face, it is blowing in all directions and the bags are being dressed. This is asking for vermin.”
According to Manon, many residents of the flat have been putting their plastic waste on the street more than a week before the collection date. But that’s not the only thing. The place is now also used as a true landfill for bulky waste. “I just see people driving here with trailers and throw everything down. Cabinets, mattresses, washing machines, toys, lamps: Geldrop landfill is. And then in front of my door,” says Manon.
On Monday afternoon, the huge mountain of torn waste bags full of plastic is particularly striking. According to the residents, they were not picked up last week. But there is also a lamp between the mess and there are dozens of boxes. “Old paper is free, but people are too lazy to make it small and throw it in the container,” says a municipality of the municipality who happens to drive along.

He has been surprised by the clutter for months in his own blessing and has taken pictures several times. “But the municipality is not responsible for this, because the waste is in a radius of so many meters around the containers. And so container company Cure is about that.”
In the meantime, according to resident Marianne, the mountain of waste is only getting bigger. “Only a few people have to deposit their dirt here and others will automatically throw something about it.”
High prices at De Storten
Manon thinks that the high prices for the deposit also ensure that it is such a mess at her door. “There are many rental properties here and many people are not wide here. If you have to go to the dump and you have to pay the full slap there, then you dump it somewhere else. But rather not in front of me.”
She has already filed the umpteenth complaint to the municipality, just like many other flat residents. “But I don’t hear anything.” Marianne also believes that the municipality is doing too little. “We have been arguing for so long to hang cameras. But then we are told that this is not allowed because of privacy. Then nothing will change, I am afraid.”
Problem known to the municipality
The municipality of Geldrop-Mierlo says that the waste will be cleaned up on Tuesday by Cure, the company that takes care of the waste collection on behalf of the municipality.
The problem of dumped waste at the containers is known to the municipality. It is being worked hard on it and according to a spokesperson things are getting better lately. “The fact that it looks like this again on Monday is disappointing for all parties,” says the spokesperson.
