The Spanish fashion group Mango is investing in the Spanish textile recycling project Recovo, an online platform that sells leftover textiles. Support is provided by Mango’s in-house “StartUp Studio”, which is intended to promote innovations in the textile industry. In the cooperation, Mango wants to help Recovo entrepreneurs on how to scale their business model, and they also receive mentoring and advice.

Founded in 2021, Recovo is a re-commerce platform for textile, yarn and production material waste. By recycling textiles, companies can give surplus textiles a second life and minimize their environmental impact. “Recovo presents a business model that contributes to a circular future through technology, traceability and collaborative action,” reads Mango’s press release.

Mango StartUp Studio actively seeks development-stage companies and ideas to invest seed capital that add value to the fashion industry value chain and enhance the customer experience.

Sustainability and technology are key areas of the program, in addition to all areas of the value chain, from product development to sourcing to distribution.
