Midfielder Marcel Sabitzer has no future at Manchester United beyond the 2022/23 season and will be back at FC Bayern Munich from July 1. As the Premiere League club announced on Friday, Sabitzer and Wout Weghorst (Burnley FC), who were on loan for the second half of the past season, are returning to their regular clubs.
The Austrian Sabitzer, who missed the end of the season in England due to a meniscus injury, won the League Cup with the “Red Devils” in February. In total, he has played 18 games for Manchester since January, scoring three goals and laying on another. His future at Bayern is uncertain, especially since fellow countryman Konrad Laimer has been signed as another competitor for central midfield.

Sabitzer’s contract on Säbener Strasse runs until June 30, 2025, and he was linked to FC Barcelona in the Spanish media during the week. The Catalans are likely to have a gap in the center with the imminent departure of Sergio Busquets.
