Manchester United: Cristiano Ronaldo hints at ten Hag

After farewell rumors

Cristiano Ronaldo is looking forward to the new coach Erik ten Hag and has indicated in this context that he will remain at Manchester United. “I wish him the best and I believe we will win trophies next year,” said the English record champions’ top striker in one Interview on the Red Devils website. “What I know about him is that he has done a fantastic job for Ajax, that he is an experienced coach,” said the 37-year-old Portuguese.

United will finish this season without a title and, sixth in the table, have no chance of qualifying for the Champions League. “Things would have to change the way he wants them to. But we have to give him time,” Ronaldo said of the Dutch football coach, who will succeed caretaker coach Ralf Rangnick in the summer. Rangnick will then continue to work as a consultant for the “Red Devils”, but will also take on the Austrian national team as a coach.

“Of course I hope that we will be successful. Because if you succeed, all of Manchester will succeed too. I wish him the best,” Ronaldo said. “We are happy and excited, not only as players but also as fans.”

Among other things, the tabloid newspaper “Mirror” had speculated about Ronaldo’s early departure in the summer given the previous unsuccessful season. But Ronaldo had already indicated in an Instagram message that he would stay. “Our goal is to get better every day,” wrote Ronaldo, “so that we can achieve what we all want: glory for Man United!” The five-time world footballer returned to Old Trafford last summer after twelve years, where he is now under contract until the summer of 2023 – with an option for another season.
