Team manager Ralf Rangnick won the last Premier League game of the year with Manchester United thanks to Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho.
The English football champions defeated relegation candidate FC Burnley 3-1 (3-1) at Old Trafford and gave Alex Ferguson an early birthday present. Manchester’s iconic coach will turn 80 on Friday.
Scott McTominay (8th), an own goal by Ben Mee (27th) after great work by Sancho and Ronaldo (35th) ensured a quick 3-0 lead, before Aaron Lennon (38th) cut short before the break. In the table, the Red Devils returned to sixth place.
Rangnick celebrated his third win in his fourth game with United. On Monday he did not get more than 1-1 at Kellerkind Newcastle United.
