Manchester City: turnover and financial result

Manchester City, which is in second place in the Premier League, published its financial figures for the 2021-22 season at the beginning of the week.

The club achieved a record high turnover of around 703 million euros. The club made a profit of 41.73 million pounds, i.e. 47.88 million euros.

City’s turnover is the second largest in English football history. Three years ago, local rival Manchester United made 719 million in turnover calculated at the current exchange rate.

The Premier League championship achieved in the 2021–22 season increased City’s turnover by around 50 million euros compared to the previous season, when the coronavirus pandemic forced clubs to often play to empty spectators.

City is owned by the Arab Emirates.

City is owned by the holding company City Football Group, which is backed by a sheik Mansoor. The Sheikh is also the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.

City Football Group owns football clubs around the world. It is the main owner of, among others, New York City FC and a minority owner of Girona FC, which plays in La Liga.
