Managing Director Stefan Merkt and Schöffel Sportschleid GmbH go separate paths.
Merkt decided to end his work at the outdoor equipment based in the Bavarian Schwabmünchen with effect from May 16, said Schöffel Sport on Wednesday. For him, Jakob Schöffel, managing partner of the Schöffel Group, will take over the management for Schöffel Sport from mid -May.
“The decision to leave Schöffel was not easy for me,” said notification. “However, I am convinced that we have set the right course for the future of Schöffel with the sharpened brands DNA and the strategic sales adjustments.”
Merkt came to Schöffel Sport as Senior Vice President Sales in 2019 and was promoted to CEO two years later. Under his leadership, the strategic realignment on mental wellness and health as a central positioning of the outdoor clothing of Schöffel Sport was promoted, according to the message.
“Stefan has set decisive impulses for our company in recent years,” said Jakob Schöffel. “He was a close confidante to my father and also me.”
