Management change at Manor: Roland Armbruster becomes CEO

The Swiss retailer Manor has a new executive chair. The company, part of the Maus Frères group of companies, announced on Wednesday that Roland Armbruster will take over as CEO on February 1. The experienced commercial manager succeeds Jérôme Gilg, who managed Manor for four years and spent a total of twenty years with the Maus Frères group.

Armbruster was the CEO of the Italian department store operator Coin SpA. Before that, he held various managerial roles at well-known European retailers such as KaDeWe, Karstadt, De Bijenkorf and Breuninger.

Armbruster is to drive the transformation at Manor

A wide range of tasks awaits the designated CEO at his future employer. This includes “further strengthening the differentiation and attractiveness of Manor in Switzerland,” the company said. “In addition to the development of the offer, the expansion of digitization and the simplification of processes and working methods will also be among his priorities.” The aim of the retailer is “to create more agility and to further improve the service for customers”.

Thierry Guibert, CEO of the Maus-Frères Group, paid tribute to the new addition: “Roland Armbruster will bring his industry knowledge and international experience to further drive dynamism and transformation at Manor – a company of more than 100 years that has a very special place in in our group and in the Swiss retail landscape,” he said in a statement.
