A man with a saber caused a major police operation in Neu-Hohenschönhausen in the Berlin-Lichtenberg district.
According to police, tenants of an apartment building reported on Tuesday who discovered the man in the hallway with the weapon and felt threatened by his unusual behavior.
Forces from a special operations command (SEK) arrived. Police officers eventually persuaded the man to give up the weapon and took him into custody.
According to information, no one was injured in the incident. Details of the operation were not initially disclosed. Further investigations are ongoing.
