The 43-year-old man from Rijsbergen who was arrested on Saturday night after an explosion on the Oosterstraat in Breda is free again. The police arrested the man because he fled when agents saw him near the explosion. After research, it appears that the man was not involved in the explosion.

The explosion happened on Saturday night around a quarter past five. An explosive went off at Beautysalon Nazar Beauty. The front door was therefore destroyed. Six houses above the beauty salon were evacuated. Nobody was injured.

Shortly after the explosion, the police saw a 43-year-old man in the vicinity of Oosterstraat. When he realized that the officers saw him, he fled. The police therefore arrested him. On Sunday evening the police report that this man had nothing to do with the explosion. He is therefore no longer a suspect and has been released. “We are still busy investigating,” the police report.

It is remarkable that a weed nursery was cleared in the building on Oosterstraat last week. The waste containers were still on the lawn in front of the building. The police are investigating whether there is a connection between the explosion and the weed nursery.
