A man fell into a deep pit on Friday afternoon while throwing waste. De Kuil was dug for work on the Meidoornlaan in Etten-Leur. The man could no longer climb out of the pit.
It went wrong when the man wanted to throw his waste away at the underground waste containers in the street. Because of the work, a small bridge had been temporarily laid out over the slot to get to the waste bins. After thriving his waste in the Kliko, he stepped back and fell through the fence in the pit.
The fire brigade was called in and managed to pull the man out of the pit quickly. He came off without a hitch. As a precaution, the police have closed the underground containers.
