Man tied up in robbery in Bladel: perpetrator has to go to jail for three years

The man who broke into a house in Bladel in July last year and tied up the resident has been jailed for three years. Together with an accomplice, he looted the house on Albrecht Rodenbachplein. The robber confessed during the trial.

The two perpetrators struck on 12 July. They threatened and assaulted the victim. The man had to lie on his stomach, his hands were tied behind his back and he was beaten. Then they robbed him. They took money, a watch, cigarettes, jewelry and a car. Then they left.

Caught in the victim’s car
About a month after the robbery, the suspect was caught driving around in the victim’s stolen car. The Belgian police had received the registration number of the stolen car and recognized the car. The suspect was subsequently extradited to the Netherlands.

During the trial, the suspect confessed that he and an accomplice had committed the robbery. It wasn’t the first time he’s done something like this either. The man has previously been jailed for a similar crime. He had already been in jail for a year and a half.

main offender
However, the court does not think that this suspect is the main perpetrator. From what the victim said, it appears that the other perpetrator was in charge. That suspect hasn’t been caught yet.

In addition to three years in prison, the robber also has to pay compensation to the victim.

The robbery happened in July of this year:
